“Torrenting straight down three thousand feet; descending from Nine Heavens as if it is the Milky Way” (two lines from a famous poem by Li Bao). And there seemed to be a spirit in the waterfalls, not the Monkey King but a water spirit. The author was inspired by an artistic imagination to capture this image, which for him takes on a quality of imaginativeness and liveliness.
