Artist: Marilyn Hurst
Mud Bay Day
Acrylic on Panel
Marilyn Hurst took up painting in the early 90s after discovering a previously unknown creative side to herself and her work has since expanded beyond anything she could have imagined. She describes her real art education beginning in 1997 when she opened a second floor studio in the downtown area of Cabo San Lucas, Baja, Mexico, and after 13 years, the studio grew with the Golden Cactus Gallery’s eclectic collection of artists and art to become the most respected art gallery in Los Cabos and the benchmark of excellence for the southern Baja. Marilyn’s paintings reflect a menage of life experience, and creative energy. The landscapes, florals, and expressionist abstracts are as always, inspired by the colours and culture of Mexico and the beauty of her home in the Pacific Northwest. She divides her painting time between creating from her studio in White Rock, B.C. and spending months in the Baja painting in the Old Town Gallery where she showed her work for years.
