Artist: Chris MacClure
My Happy Place
Acrylic on canvas

Chris MacClure is a Canadian “Romantic Realism” painter. In art, he always pursues the kind of real posture and eternal moment. His paintings embody his “romantic realism” view of life, and from his style, you can find his perfect use of natural colours and composition. Chris was born in an artistic family in St John on the east coast of Canada. His father is a jazz musician, his mother is a playwright, and his grandfather is an illustrator, so he has been surrounded by art since he was a child. During the study tour, he studied art at Sir George University (Concordia) in Montreal and Emily Carr School of Art & Design in Vancouver. His works have been exhibited in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Chris’s works are collected by John Travolta, Kirstie Alley, James Whitmore, Frederica Von Stade, Don Prud’ Homme, Bill Clinton, Boris Yeltsin, PepsiCo, and Ford Motor Company. Recently, Prince William and Princess Kate have also become collectors of his works. At the same time, Chris is the founder of International Artist Day every year on October 25th; this festival is a worldwide festival.
