Dragon Dancing and Dragon Bombing is an exciting festive activity of the Lantern Festival which has the meaning of getting rid of bad luck, cleaning the old of the past year and ushering in the new of the new year. It is one of the three major Lantern Festival celebrations in Taiwan (which are “the sky lanterns of northern Taiwan”, “the dragon bombing of central Taiwan”, and “the bee firecrackers of southern Taiwan”). Photographing the stunning performance of the dragon dance and capturing its beauty at night amidst the crackling firecrackers was a very exciting experience.
